Decking and Pergolas

A deck can add character to a dull area. Decks are a versatile option for many uses such as stairs, alfresco, pool surrounds and boardwalks. There is nothing better than a beautiful deck to entertain or relax on. There are instances that a deck is your best option due to site constrains and access. Decks being a modular component of the yard, can give you a flat space that would be have otherwise been exorbitantly expensive through other methods.
Combining the straight lines of decking boards with other raw elements in your yard can be the order in chaos.

Deck framing

Our deck framing is primarily constructed of MGP10 structural treated pine. It is rot and termite resistant providing that the timber does not meet the ground and has sufficient ventilation. Alternatively, we can build hardwood or steel framing for those in bush fire prone areas. We will help you decide which frame you require.

Attention to detail is the name of the game. A well-constructed deck should last over 30 years. We use galvanised nails and stainless-steel screws as our fixings to ensure they will not corrode being exposed to the elements. Joist protection is used to divert water from sitting on the frame. We also spray eco seal on all of our cuts to ensure the protection of the timbers right to the end grain where it is most susceptible to rot.

Deck frame installation will vary depending on the nature of the property and choice of decking board.

Things that need to be considered when framing are:

  • Ground Clearance
  • Bushfire Prone regions
  • Choice of decking board
  • Coastal regions
  • Weight loads
  • Balustrades and wind loads
  • Board lay out
